About Jolandi du Preez

Clinical experience

Headshot7.jpg

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with over 30 years clinical experience, and I specialise in mental health treatment. I have worked in a variety of settings in South Africa and the UK, including trauma services, general mental health services, private practice and hospitals as well as the third (charity) sector.

I have gained experience in clinical practice as well as developing and managing services and treatment programmes, with a focus on outcomes and adding to the research base in occupational therapy.

I have specialist knowledge and experience in trauma and my practice also encompasses a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, depression, anxiety and personality disorder and lately broadening my knowledge of ADHD and ASD.

I enjoy sharing my passion for occupational therapy through mentoring and supervision of colleagues. I have a special interest and passion for training and supervision in Occupational Formulation and Measurable Goal Setting due to my belief and experience in using Occupational Formulation in my own practice as well as implementing it into various services I managed.

My approach is rooted in understanding...

‘What matters to my clients...’

...in order to motivate them on a path of self-discovery towards a happier, healthier, more fulfilled life. I use Occupational Formulation to stay client-centred and occupation-focused and incorporate my training in Sensory Intelligence and Modulation, Coaching, Certificate in Eating Disorders, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Sensory-Enhanced Yoga for Self-Regulation and Trauma Healing, and Motivational Interviewing into my occupational therapy practice. I believe in the power of group therapy and I am also trained in The Occupational Therapy Interactive Group Model.

ABOUT JolandidDuPreezotBrandshoot2025_5.jpg

Personal

Through personal experience, and changes and transitions in my own life – personal as well as professional, I have come to understand the importance of discovering new possibilities, work/life balance, participating in meaningful activities and prioritising well-being.

This has made me passionate about helping other people achieve balance and happiness through making time for themselves, their interests and the people that matter to them.

Personal interests include reading and spending time in nature. I keep fit through walking, yoga and swimming. These things help me to stay balanced, grounded and less stressed.

Professional

I am registered with regulatory body the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) and I am bound by their strict ethical code of conduct.

I also have up to date Professional Liability cover.
