Individual Treatment
I specialise in mental health and supporting health and wellbeing when you are navigating a difficult period in your life that may elicit a range of emotional responses, such as anxiety, depression, stress, mental fatigue or feelings of uncertainty and loss. This is often as a result of life changes, transitions, turning points, and unexpected challenges that requires you to adjust and adapt. Such experiences can lead to struggling with meaning and purpose in your life and can impact on your roles, relationships, productivity and overall wellbeing.
I understand that each person's situation is unique and therefore, I offer a flexible and personalised approach. I offer a combination of occupational therapy treatment, coaching and sensory modulation. Through this combination of support, I aim to help you discover a renewed sense of purpose, open up new opportunities and change the way you feel about the future.

Occupational Therapy takes a holistic, practical approach to help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives by focusing on what matters most to them.

Sensory Modulation is a therapeutic approach that uses your senses or body to regulate how you feel and calm your mind

What is Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is a science-based healthcare profession. What makes our intervention stand out from other treatment is that we see beyond limitations and diagnosis to hopes, dreams and aspirations. Our focus in the first instance is ‘What matters to you’ and to support you to engage in all the things that are important to you – this could include work, being a good parent, engaging in the hobbies that you enjoy, playing a sport, or looking after your own needs. As each one of us is unique, the activities that are important to us – we call them ‘occupations’ - are also unique. Occupations can fall into the categories of work, leisure, self-care and sleep. They vary depending on our environment, interests and values, talents and skills and change throughout our lives. We look at relationships between the activities you do every day alongside the challenges you face and your environment (your physical environment as well as your support systems). Occupations are particularly important when we are going through transitions or times of change when our sense of self and purpose may change. We then need to adjust the way we do things, which is where occupational therapy can help. Our input will start by exploring the things that matters to you and the occupations that you want and need to do. We then create a plan of goals and adjustments targeted at your specific needs and what you would like to achieve. The plan is practical, realistic and personal to you as an individual. We will work alongside you to build skills, find resources and problem-solve difficulties with the aim to help you achieve the breakthroughs you need to elevate your everyday life. This support can give people a renewed sense of purpose. It can also open up new opportunities and change the way people feel about the future. To support treatment, a coaching approach can be used as an enablement skill in occupational therapy. According to International Coach Federation, 2006 ‘Coaching is an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and / or professional lives, improve their performance and enhance their quality of life’. Coaching strengthens person-centred practice and ensuring that the person and their world are at the core of what we do and helps to shift the power into the hands of you. This again supports growth and change even after the completion of treatment – living healthy and happy lives.
